Wherever have I been?

Well, I've been in my own personal hell, that's where I've been.

Work at my real got to be pretty much a 10-hour-a-day nightmare. This was on top of whatever time I was spending at the Wal-Mart. I'd come in at 6 p.m. and leave sometime near 4 a.m. And sometimes, I'd be back at Wal-Mart by 7 a.m.

It was bad. Real bad. Especially because I was going through an eight-days-in-a-row stretch at the store, then going in to my real job to be abused. Honestly, and I know my readers will scream, but the last thing I wanted to do was see a computer after I got done. I would get done with work and then almost run for the car. Every second of sleep was priceless.

So here's how it has all shaken out. I've asked to cut back at Wal-Mart. I'm going to get Tuesday-Thursdays off every week, and only work on Friday-Monday. Sunday/Monday are my days off at my real job, so that has me doing a double shift only two days a week. Which I'm fine with. The store is fine with that too, because I'm not asking for weekends off.

And now, drumroll please, I asked to be transferred to another job tonight. Any job, so long as it is not what I'm currently doing. I told them that hours were not an issue. Pay was negotiable. It was ALL negotiable. I just had to have a change or I was going to strangle someone. My new boss seemed a bit shocked, but agreed to look into it. I'd make copies and answer the phone at this point. As long as it is a set schedule, I can deal with Wal-Mart on the side.

So that's where we stand. I feel as if a huge load has been lifted, at least for now. We'll see what the options are. And I'm going to do another post with all the Wal-Mart drama from this past weekend.

Hey, no problem taking a few days off, just so long as we know you're OK.

So, which job would you say is more frustrating: the paper or Wal-Mart?
