Post-birthday thoughts

I don't feel any older. I actually feel like crap today. I still haven't adjusted to this new medicine that I'm on because my blood pressure is too high and I'm apparently a walking heart attack waiting to happen.

I had to work at Wal-Mart last night. I wore a "Birthday Boy" button and customers kept wishing me "Happy Birthday," so that was good. Everyone gave me hugs Wednesday if they weren't going to be in Thursday and all night Thursday as well. All my fellow associates went out of their way to make me feel special even though I had to work on my birthday. Everyone seemed to think I heroic for working on my birthday.

When I got back out to my car, I had messages from quite a few of my friends on my phone wishing me "Happy Birthday" and leaving these insanely long messages. I love you all!

In another special note, I got my Customer Service Supervisor keys for the first time Thursday, or as I call them, "the keys to the Wal-Mart kingdom." :) Not really earth-shattering, but a small step in my plan to take over the retail giant nonetheless.

I got home around 11:30 p.m. and had some chocolate ice cream and champagne. I watched a new DVD I got in, a TV series from Britain, "Rosemary & Thyme," with Pam Ferris and Felicity Kendall. I had gotten my favorite club sandwiches from a little deli earlier in the day and a frappuccino that afternoon. All in all, it was a perfectly fine birthday, even though I ultimately spent it alone. Don't tell my therapist that though. He thinks I spend too much time alone.

Today was sort of hellish though. I had trouble sleeping even though I didn't drink even half the bottle of champers (a waste of good liquor, I know) and kept waking up. I was just so drained all day and I had errands to run and clothes to wash (absolutely NO clean shirts to wear to work).

I did crack the code on how to make my own Starbuck frappuccino at home. God bless the Internet. Anyone want the recipe? That's my life.
